Segment ProtectorThe Pepperl+Fuchs R2-SP-IC12 is a high-density fieldbus segment protector and device coupler for process automation systems. It connects up to 12 field instruments to a FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 or PROFIBUS PA segment while providing short-circuit protection and fault isolation at individual spurs.
The device supports Ex ic intrinsic safety, with outputs suitable for FISCO or Entity applications, as well as non-incendive Division 2 applications. Its integrated diagnostics provide power, communication, diagnostic and error indication through LEDs. A removable fieldbus terminator and T-connector simplify commissioning, network extension and maintenance.
The R2-SP-IC12 is particularly suitable for process plants, chemical facilities, oil & gas installations, and other hazardous-area automation systems where reliable fieldbus distribution and individual spur protection are required.
