Product parameters

Communication specifications: Supports IC66* remote I/O bus protocol, physical interface is RS-422/485 differential signal, equipped with 15-pin bus port (for bus connection) + 9-pin handheld monitoring port (for local debugging).

Transmission performance: The transmission rate is adjustable in three Settings: 38.4Kbaud, 76.8Kbaud, and 153.6Kbaud. Maximum bus distance: 2,275 meters (7,500 feet) at 38.4Kbaud, 1,365 meters (4,500 feet) at 76.8Kbaud, and 605 meters (2,000 feet) at 153.6Kbaud.

I/O capacity: Supports up to 30 remote I/O sub-stations, and 10 to 20 sub-stations when fully loaded. A single module can handle up to 1024 discrete I/O points or 64 analog I/O points, and a single remote substation supports up to 128-byte input + 128-byte output.

Power supply and power consumption: Powered by the Series 90-70 rack backplane bus (DC 5V), the typical backplane current value is 1.2A, and no independent external power supply is required.

Physics and Environment: Compatible with Series 90-70 series 32mm standard racks, operating temperature 0°C to 60°C, storage temperature -40°C to +85°C, protection grade IP20, electrical isolation between bus side and backplane bus (500V DC).

Function

Remote I/O expansion: As a "data transmission bridge" between the main PLC and the remote I/O module, it scans the discrete/analog I/O data on the remote rack in real time and uploads it to the main CPU. At the same time, it issues the master station control instructions to the remote actuator, solving the problem of insufficient local I/O points or scattered devices.

Bus topology adaptation: Supports daisy-chain wiring, allowing a single shielded cable to be connected in series with multiple remote sub-stations, significantly simplifying on-site wiring, reducing cable costs and construction difficulty.

Data reliability guarantee: Built-in parity check and data frame error detection functions, automatically triggering a retry mechanism when transmission anomalies occur. It is equipped with fault diagnosis pins and can be linked to external alarm devices.

Status visualization and diagnosis: Intuitively feedback the working status of the module through LED indicator lights; Supports system-level diagnosis, and fault codes can be read through PLC programming software, facilitating quick problem identification.

Seamless system compatibility: Fully compatible with all Series 90-70 cpus and 5/10/15 slot racks, and compatible with remote I/O modules of the same series. No additional driver adaptation is required during configuration.

Application scenarios

Distributed control of industrial production lines: In production lines of industries such as automobiles, electronics, and building materials, sensors and actuators scattered in different areas of the workshop are connected through remote I/O racks and centrally controlled by the main PLC to achieve multi-area collaborative operations.

Long-distance I/O access in process industries: In large-scale facilities in the chemical, metallurgical, and power industries, due to the wide distribution of equipment, this module can be used to expand remote I/O sub-stations, avoiding signal attenuation and cost waste caused by long-distance laying of I/O cables.

Old system I/O expansion and upgrade: When the existing Series 90-70 control system needs to increase the number of I/O points due to capacity improvement and process upgrading, there is no need to replace the main CPU. Only by expanding the remote rack through this module can the original system resources be reused and the upgrade cost be reduced.

Large-scale equipment zonal control: In large-scale equipment such as machine tools, warehousing and logistics systems, and production line conveyor lines, remote I/O sub-stations are configured according to functional zones. Through modules, the master station can precisely control and collect data from each zonal equipment.
