Allen-Bradley 1756-RM2 ControlLogix Redundancy Enhanced Module, Single-Channel Fiber, 1000 Mbps

The Allen-Bradley 1756-RM2 provides the communication and synchronization functions required for a ControlLogix controller redundancy system. A redundant system uses a pair of 1756-RM2 modules, one in each redundant chassis, to monitor operating states, synchronize controller information and establish the communication bridge between the two chassis.

The module provides a single fiber-optic transmit/receive channel and supports communication speeds of up to 1 Gbps. Compatible redundancy fiber cables include 1756-RMC1, 1756-RMC3 and 1756-RMC10, with cable lengths of 1 m, 3 m and 10 m respectively.

The 1756-RM2 is designed for ControlLogix 5570 and 5580 controller families and can be installed in any available slot of compatible ControlLogix chassis. Rockwell documentation also identifies the module as part of ControlLogix redundancy system revisions with firmware support up to revision 20.031.
