PLC Communication ModuleThe Siemens 6GK7542-1AX10-0XE0 CM 1542-1 is designed to extend the communication capabilities of a SIMATIC S7-1500 automation system with a dedicated PROFINET interface. It provides one PROFINET interface implemented through a two-port switch, with two galvanically isolated RJ45 sockets. The Ethernet ports support 10/100 Mbps transmission and automatic crossover.
The communication module supports PROFINET IO Controller and IO Device functions as well as TCP/IP, ISO-on-TCP, UDP and S7 communication. Additional functions include IP broadcast and multicast, SNMP V1 and time synchronization through NTP. The module is mounted directly in the S7-1500 rack or on an S7-1500 mounting rail and communicates with the CPU through the S7-1500 backplane.
