PROFIBUS DP Communication ProcessorThe CP 443-5 Extended is installed in an S7-400 rack and communicates with PROFIBUS DP field devices through its integrated RS-485 interface. The interface uses a 9-pin Sub-D female connector and supports PROFIBUS transmission rates from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s. The module draws its operating power directly from the S7-400 backplane at 5 V DC.
The module supports extended communication functions including PROFIBUS DP, S5-compatible communication, PG/OP communication and S7 communication. Siemens documentation confirms that the -DX04 version can be configured with STEP 7 Professional and is part of the CP 443-5 Extended product family.
