Industrial Ethernet Communication ProcessorThe CP 443-1 provides an S7-400 CPU with Industrial Ethernet connectivity without requiring an Ethernet interface directly integrated into the CPU. The module supports ISO, TCP/IP and UDP, S7 communication, Fetch/Write, SEND/RECEIVE with and without RFC1006, multicast, DHCP, SNMP V2 and web-based diagnostics. It can also operate as a PROFINET IO Controller.
The module has an integrated ERTEC 400 real-time Ethernet switch with two RJ45 ports operating at 10/100 Mbps. It draws its operating power from the S7-400 backplane and is designed for installation in an S7-400 rack. Siemens technical data specifies a typical backplane current consumption of approximately 1.4 A at 5 V DC.
