Contrast Sensor / Registration SensorThe SICK KT5W-2P1116 is a compact contrast and registration sensor from the SICK KT5 family. It is designed to detect differences between printed marks and their surrounding background, making it particularly suitable for packaging, printing, labeling and web-processing machinery.
The sensor uses RGB LED technology with red, green and blue emission at 640 nm, 525 nm and 470 nm. The optimum light color can be selected automatically for the detected contrast. The device supports static two-point teach-in, allowing the switching threshold to be set between the mark and background.
The KT5W-2P1116 operates from 10–30 V DC and provides a PNP output rated at up to 100 mA. With a switching frequency of up to 10 kHz and a response time of approximately 50 μs, it is suitable for high-speed registration and positioning applications.
