The Eaton MTL5561 is a 2-channel loop-powered intrinsically safe interface designed for conventional, non-addressable fire and smoke detectors or manual call points located in hazardous areas. It transfers detector status to a safe-area fire alarm control panel while limiting voltage and current into the hazardous-area circuits.

Intrinsically Safe Fire & Smoke Detector InterfaceThe MTL5561 belongs to the MTL5500 Series of intrinsically safe galvanic isolators. It provides two fully floating, loop-powered channels for connecting conventional fire and smoke detectors installed in hazardous areas.
When a detector or manual call point is activated, the MTL5561 produces a corresponding change in the safe-area current, allowing the connected fire alarm control panel to detect the alarm condition. The unit also incorporates reverse input polarity protection.
The MTL5561 is the DIN-rail-mounted version of the MTL4561. The two products have the same electrical function, while the MTL5561 is designed for installation on a 35 mm DIN rail.
