Product status: Discontinued on September 30, 2023. There is no official replacement model. It is recommended to upgrade to the PanelView Plus 7 series logic module.

Functions

Logic module: As the computing core of the PanelView Plus 6700-1500 series HMI, it processes applications, communication and data display, and is connected to the display module through the PCI slot.

Communication function: The EtherNet interface supports the EtherNet/IP protocol and can be integrated with PLCS (such as ControlLogix, CompactLogix) or other devices. It supports linear topology (Device Level Ring, DLR can be achieved through external switches).

The RS-232 interface supports DH-485 and DF1 protocols and is suitable for point-to-point or small-scale network communication.

The USB port supports the connection of peripheral devices (such as keyboards, mice, and USB flash drives), facilitating data transfer, backup, or integration with external devices.

The CompactFlash slot supports storage expansion and firmware upgrade.

Software support: Pre-installed FactoryTalk View Machine Edition runtime and FactoryTalk ViewPoint software, supporting graphical interface configuration, alarm management and data recording, and allowing remote viewing in read-only mode through a web browser.

Extended functions: Compared with 2711P-RP8D, RP9D supports the extended version of Windows CE 6.0, can open Microsoft Office files and PDF documents, and provides the WordPad editor to enhance data processing capabilities.

High-performance processing: 512 MB RAM and 1 GHz processor support complex applications and fast screen switching.

Firmware upgrade: Firmware upgrade is supported via USB, serial port or Ethernet. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) must be used to ensure stability and prevent the device from "becoming a brick".

Core components of the HMI system: Used in conjunction with the PanelView Plus 6700-1500 display terminal, it is suitable for medium and large-scale industrial automation systems, such as production lines, packaging equipment, material handling systems or processing equipment.

Replacement and Maintenance: As a replacement component, it is used for maintaining or repairing the existing PanelView Plus 6 terminal and is suitable for upgrading the old HMI system, especially in scenarios that require DC power supply, extended functions and Ethernet communication.
