The Allen-Bradley 1756-RM2 is a ControlLogix Redundancy Module. This module enables Controller Redundancy by pairing with another 1756-RM2 from the other ControlLogix chassis. It supports up to 1000 Mbps synchronization speed and Controller switchover of 20 ms. This module is compatible with ControlLogix Controllers 5560 and 5570.

Function
Controller redundancy: Paired with another 1756-RM2, it achieves synchronization between the primary and backup controllers. In case of failure, it automatically switches, with a switching time of approximately 20 ms and a scanning delay of about 10 ms.
