Communication ProcessThe 6GK7543-1AX00-0XE0 is a dedicated communication processor for SIMATIC S7-1500 PLC systems. It extends the communication capabilities of an S7-1500 station by providing a separate Industrial Ethernet interface, allowing the controller to communicate with higher-level systems, engineering stations, industrial networks and other Ethernet-based devices.
The CP 1543-1 supports TCP/IP, ISO, UDP and S7 communication, as well as IP broadcast and multicast. It also incorporates network services such as SNMP V1/V3, DHCP, FTP client/server, email and NTP time synchronization. For industrial cybersecurity, Siemens specifies functions including firewall, VPN, IP/MAC access control and IEEE 802.1X authentication.
