Main functions:

Cell switching: It is responsible for data exchange between line processing units (LPU) and communicates with the main control board (SRU) via Ethernet to achieve efficient cross-frame data scheduling.

Redundancy mechanism: A 3+1 backup mode is adopted, with four switching network units working collaboratively. When any unit fails, the remaining units automatically take over the service, and the service interruption time approaches zero.

Status monitoring: Real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature and voltage, supporting the indication of safe plugging and unplugging status through the OFL indicator light (red constantly on).

Core functions and limitations

Compatibility requirements: It needs to be used in conjunction with the NE40E series main control board and LPU single board. Cross-manufacturer devices are not supported for mixed insertion.

Functional Limitations: The same series of SFU boards (such as CR5DSFUIT27S) explicitly do not support port rate adaptation and hhash functions. CR5DSFUIT27L may inherit this limitation.
