    Universal RS-485 Fiber Optic Repeater

The Hirschmann OZD 485 G12 PRO is an industrial fiber-optic repeater for RS-485 fieldbus networks. It converts RS-485 electrical signals to optical signals and back again, allowing communication over longer distances while providing galvanic isolation between network segments.

The device supports transmission rates up to 1.5 Mbit/s and can operate in either full-duplex or half-duplex mode. It provides two optical interfaces and one electrical RS-485 interface, with support for redundant power inputs. The PRO version also supports redundancy configurations including ring topologies.

The OZD 485 G12 PRO is suitable for industrial automation, factory networks, process-control systems, Modbus RTU/ASCII and other RS-485-based fieldbus applications where electromagnetic interference, long transmission distances or electrical isolation are concerns.
